SIP & Screen
A coffee-tasting, film screening, and panel discussion celebrating women in coffee
November 17th at 6:00 pm Convivio Café
Join us in celebrating and uplifting the work of women in coffee at this special film screening, panel discussion, and coffee tasting.
Women do at least 70% of the work it takes to produce a cup of coffee. But men typically hold a much greater share of the profits. Not only do men dominate more lucrative roles in the coffee supply chain, but global gender inequities around land ownership, access to education, and more perpetuate the disparities of women in the industry.
Join us at Convivio Café, Denver’s first women-run bilingual café, for the Colorado premiere of Stronger Than Coffee, a 25-minute series featuring five short films made by Costa Rican women coffee producers. With cameras in hand, they reveal what it means—and what it takes—to be coffee producers in an industry that often makes them invisible.
$20
We don’t want the ticket price to prevent anyone from attending. If it is a barrier for you, please email rachel@needleandframe.org
